However, arm cuffs digital monitors are more accurate than digital wrist monitors. All have a display screen to show results. Most of these monitors come with a simple button. The disadvantages of these are expensive and sometimes inaccurate readings due to insufficient wrapping of cuff.

Pediatric Blood Pressure Monitor
This monitor is designed with a small LCD screen and a cuff. This device is especially designed for children. This is used to check the hypertension for children. It is noted that diastolic and systolic pressure rises in kids due to obesity in early age.
Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor
This device is used for the patients who have arthritis of joint elbow. These are very sensitive to human temperature and position. So, they may show incorrect reading. These include a small storage case, cuff and small LCD. Even some comes with a pulse monitor. These are portable and manufacturers designed this device similar to shape of a wrist watch.
How Do Automatic Blood Pressure Monitors Work?
The automatic type of oscillator or monitor is designed with an electric sensor, which detects flow of blood. One has to place the monitor cuff around arm. Detailed instructions and directions are given in the manual provided by the monitor while purchasing it. Usually, the cuff is activated to a pressure more than the systolic pressure. The monitor keeps on working until the reading goes down to the systolic pressure. Finally, the device shows up the results on its digital display.
